You’ll see that there are articles in this series that talk about how to improve your rankings, and so far they’ve covered almost everything. So far I’ve explained what to do, how to get links to your site and how to use them to increase your web page’s search results, but I haven’t explained what to do with the pages.
What do you think about preparing your website for all visitors? It’s easy!
First, we need to dispel some myths about search engine strategy, and we’ll start with the biggest and best: keyword density.
Keyword density is the number of times a keyword appears in a given text compared to the number of words in that text. So if you have a hundred words and your keyword appears 10 times, your keyword density is 10%. Simple Some SEO experts seokingsclub believe that if you increase your keyword density, you will have a better chance of beating your competition in search results, but this is not true. Also, it can make your pages look really bad, here’s an example.
To increase keyword density, some people include odd words in paragraphs. Here’s a bad example:
“This is the best place for SEO training in theLahore, so if you’re after SEO training for your company and haven’t taken any SEO training, this should be your one stop SEO training company.”
It looks terrible and reads terrible. The thing is, most of your pages don’t need to be in search engines, they need to work for traffic. These people will see your content and buy things, so target them, not the cars.
Of course, the content has some relevance to your keywords, but keep it in English. If you read it and it doesn’t look particularly good, other people might find it weird and stop buying.
If we don’t do keyword density, what keywords should we be looking for? Here’s the ending:
Head
This is the most important aspect of your on-page SEO, and you need to be very careful to get it right. You only have a short amount of time to write your masterpiece, maybe six words, so don’t waste them with “Welcome to our site” or “Happy Thursday”, get down to the middle. Describe your product clearly:
“Blue Sea Widget | A widget for your boat”
Most importantly, don’t put too many different keywords in your title or clutter your page. I’ll go into more depth about this in another article, but remember that each page should really have a topic or theme – make it easy for people to find, and you’ll make it easy for search engines.
Headlines
If you’re new to HTML or don’t know how to code your page, you may want to talk to a web design company about your next page. When you create your page, you will have a header at the top. It’s pretty standard, and we humans expect it (how we love newspaper headlines), but you can use it to attract your customers and increase the relevance of your page.
If you include your keywords in the title, you increase the relevance of the page. You can’t be as specific as a name, but you can be more specific. For example:
“Awesome Blue Widget from Widget Guy”
references
I will talk about external linking in another article, but you should link to your own pages. Backlinks are just as important as external links on your website, but you must format them correctly.
Remember, the Internet was created for people to get information, and the World Wide Web was created with that in mind. Thus, some words are expected to be related to others. You should use it to link to other parts of your site and to identify the general content of the page, but make sure the wording you use is relevant to the page you’re viewing.
For the purposes of this article, if you are directing people to other parts of your site, you may want to avoid using the words “click here”. Instead, change the words on the landing page as anchor text, making sure those words are linked on the page.
If you manage these things on your website, you are not a million miles away from the benefits.
