1-An eminent and award-winning Indian-origin immunologist has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Sciences in recognition of his “distinguished and continuing achievements in original research”.

2-Former Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Ajit Singh passed away in Gurgaon. He was 82.

पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और राष्ट्रीय लोक दल (रालोद) के नेता अजित सिंह का गुरुग्राम में निधन हो गया। वह 82 साल के थे।

3-One of India’s well-known cricket statistician, Dinar Gupte died. He was 76.

भारत में जाने माने क्रिकेट सांख्यिकीविदों में से शामिल दिनार गुप्ते का निधन हो गया। वह 76 बरस के थे।

4-Indian Army has clarified that the Defence Ministry has approved a total of 50 Armed Force Medical Services, AFMS hospitals including 42 Army, five Air Force and three Navy designated as Dedicated and Mixed COVID Hospitals.

भारतीय सेना ने स्पष्ट किया है कि रक्षा मंत्रालय ने सशस्त्र बल चिकित्सा सेवा के कुल 50 अस्पतालों को समर्पित और मिश्रित श्रेणी के कोविड अस्पताल के तौर पर मंजूरी दी है इनमें सेना के 42, वायु सेना के पांच और नौसेना के तीन अस्पताल शामिल हैं।

5-Union minister Jitendra Singh said that the government has decided to extend the payment of provisional pension up to a period of one year from the date of retirement of an employee in view of the COVID-19 situation.

केंद्रीय मंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह ने कहा कि सरकार ने कोविड-19 महामारी की स्थिति को देखते हुए अस्थाई तौर पर पेंशन भुगतान सेवानिवृत्ति की तारीख से एक वर्ष की अवधि के लिए बढ़ाने का निर्णय किया है।

6-The Commerce Ministry said the first consignment of organic millets, produced in Uttarakhand, would be exported to Denmark.

वाणिज्य मंत्रालय ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड में उत्पादित जैविक बाजरा की पहली खेप डेनमार्क को निर्यात की जाएगी।

7-With India continuing to reel under the second wave of COVID-19 infections, multinational financiers pitched in with relief efforts, led by a Rs 200 crore commitment by Citibank.

भारत में कोरोना संक्रमण की दूसरी लहर के प्रकोप से निपटने के लिए सिटी बैंक ने 200 करोड़ रुपये देने की घोषणा की।

8-Intensifying its efforts, the Indian Navy has deployed nine warships to bring liquid oxygen and other medical supplies from several countries in Persian Gulf and south-east Asia.

9-Investment in health, education and social protection alongside deeper regional cooperation can help countries in Asia Pacific region in achieving equitable recovery from the pandemic, Asian Development Bank (ADB) said.

एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने कहा कि स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा और सामाजिक सुरक्षा में निवेश के अलावा करीबी क्षेत्रीय सहयोग से एशिया प्रशांत क्षेत्र के देशों को महामारी से सही तरह से उबरने में मदद मिलेगी।

10-External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar participated in the G-7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting through video conference.
